Gage Lyons, PT, DPT
Gage graduated from Millikin University with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and obtained his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Midwestern University. His clinical rotations included work in Advocate Bromenn’s Inpatient Rehab Center, Dupage Medical Group, Rush University Medical Center and Advocate Condell. Gage is FCE certified through WorkWell allowing him to perform Functional Capacity Evaluations which test an individual’s ability to work as well as the status of their occupation disability. These test parameters include strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, and body mechanics in relation to job demands. Gage is also certified in Graston Technique for soft tissue mobilization and is an active member of APTA (American Physical Therapy Association). He has experience treating a wide variety of conditions and injuries including those affecting the neck, shoulder, spine, hip, knee and ankle. Gage has been working at the Maximum Rehab Center since 2011.
Gage lives in Clinton, Illinois with his wife, son and two dogs. He is an avid golfer and football fan who also enjoys snorkeling and bow hunting.
Sylvia Smiser, PT
Sylvia graduated in 2003 with a Masters Degree in Physical Therapy from Bradley University in Peoria, IL. After graduation, she began her career practicing in Southern California where she is originally from. After moving back to Central Illinois, she was a therapist with Champion Fitness Physical Therapy before joining Maximum Rehab.
Sylvia has nearly 10 years experience in the outpatient orthopedic setting with extensive experience in manual therapy for all orthopedic diagnoses. She has taken several classes in manual therapy for shoulders, cervical spine, and lumbar spine. Through the years, Sylvia has had the opportunity to be a clinical instructor and teach numerous PT and PTA students from schools all over the country.
Sylvia lives in Normal with her husband, twins and two dogs. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, sculpting and painting.
Traci Kissinger, PT, DPT
Traci received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy and Bachelor of Science in Health Science from Bradley University. Her clinical experience is largely based in the orthopedic setting, which facilitated the discovery of her passion for treating patients with musculoskeletal conditions and impairments. During her clinical rotations, she attained the hands-on skills necessary to help patients restore their physical function, alleviate pain, regain mobility, and return to the life they desire. Her motivation comes from seeing patients discover true freedom as they experience a transformation of their physical health. Her professional accomplishments include graduating with honors and presenting her research findings at the American Physical Therapy Association’s national convention in Las Vegas (2014). She plans to pursue additional certifications within the orthopedic realm such as manual therapy and orthopedic specialist.
Traci resides in Normal with her husband, Josh, and their exceptionally large, furry cat. She is an avid runner and cycler, and enjoys gardening, painting, staying involved in her local church, and visiting her family in Michigan, where she grew up.
Lyndsey Collins, PTA
Lyndsey obtained her associates degree in applied sciences from Springfield’s Lincoln Land Community College as a Physical Therapy Assistant. She had worked previously for Bromenn hospital in their acute rehab, outpatient, and home health departments as well as for Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Center. She is certified in Graston technique for soft tissue mobilization as well as in work conditioning. As a PTA certified in work conditioning, Lyndsey is able to treat patients in an individualized, work-oriented program designed to restore a patient’s strength, endurance, movement and flexibility. The objective of these programs is to restore the patient’s functions to enable a safe return to work. Lyndsey is also a credentialed clinical instructor allowing her to let students interested in physical therapy from Bloomington, Normal, Champaign, or other surrounding areas observe the treatment of patients in a work setting. She has taken additional courses on Rotator Cuff injuries, myofascial release technique, and functional strengthening.
Lyndsey’s hobbies include playing tennis, boating and running. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
Jaime Holland, PTA
Jaime graduated from Lake Land College in Matoon, Illinois in 2000. She received an Associate Degree in Applied Science as a Physical Therapist Assistant. Jaime has worked at Decatur Memorial Hospital in their inpatient rehab department and for Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Center as a member of their outpatient orthopedic rehab team. She is also certified in Graston Technique for soft tissue mobilization and myofascial release and is certified for work conditioning. Jaime became a certified clinical instructor in 2010 and enjoys tutoring students on therapy technique. She has taken additional courses on McKenzie A and B which focus on treatment of the lumbar, thoracic, and cervical spine, areas that are among the most common trigger points for pain. These classes focused on injuries resulting from injuries such as whiplash and disk trauma as well as the biomechanics of the spine.
Jaime lives in Waynesville, Illinois and is married with twins. She enjoys being outdoors and runs for exercise. In her free time she likes to spend time with her family.
McCrae Holly, PTA
McCrae received her Associate Degree in Applied Sciences from Illinois Central College in 1995. Her experience includes extensive outpatient rehab work for OSF St. Francis and Memorial Medical Center. McCrae worked for 7 years with Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Center. She, like our other therapists, is certified in Graston Technique for soft tissue mobilization and work conditioning. McCrae has taken courses on numerous topics including Kinesio Taping, which gives support and stability to your joints without affecting circulation or range of motion. Kinesio Taping is a technique based on the body’s own natural healing process which many patients find beneficial. McCrae has also taken courses on McConnell taping which uses tape to address specific muscle training to help improve biomechanical problems.
McCrae is married with 3 children. She enjoys photography and painting in her free time.
Melissa Warner, ATC, MS, PTA
Melissa is a Bradley University graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science. She completed her postgraduate academic studies at Illinois State University, where she earned a Master’s Degree in Biomechanics. Melissa is a Certified Athletic Trainer and Physical Therapist Assistant who has worked professionally in outpatient orthopedics since 2008. She joined Dr. Li’s Orthopedic & Shoulder Center team in August 2013.
Kim Rhoda, MS, OTR/L, CHT
Kim attended the University of Illinois where she obtained her degree in Psychology. She went on to graduate from Colorado State University where she earned her Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy. Kim’s experience includes over 4½ years of rehabilitation work for the #1 ranked rehab hospital in the country, Rehab Institute of Chicago. She is also a Certified Hand Therapist. Kim has shared her knowledge on spinal cord injuries through courses to other therapists in the business
Jason Richards, OTR/L, CHT
Jason attended Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan where he obtained his degree in Occupational Therapy. He worked at OSF St. James-John W. Albrecht Medical Center for 8 years before joining Maximum Rehab. Jason has experience in fabricating custom splints for upper extremity conditions as well as performing evaluations and treatments for individuals of all ages. He is also a Certified Hand Therapist. Certified hand therapists specialize in treating clients with upper extremity injuries using the most advanced programs available. Clinical education experiences include Memorial Medical Center of West Michigan and Northern Michigan Hospital.
Ashley Behrens, COTA/L
Ashley attended Parkland College in Champaign, IL where she obtained her Associates degree in Applied Sciences as an Occupational Therapy Assistant. She worked at a skilled nursing facility for 4 ½ years gaining experience in cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and orthopedic rehabilitation. She lives in LeRoy with her husband and two kids. She loves spending time with her family and friends, along with watching football games and enjoying outdoor activities.
